July 12th, 2023 Dear , I trust all is fine with you and your family.
You are receiving this message regarding the GSS free 3-day course "Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Clinical & Translational Research" that will either as a Contributor (Speaker, Coordinator, event supporter), a Governement / Institution Official (to circulate this invitation to Hospital Doctors & Nurses as well as other interested parties), Pharma and related Industries Expert (Corporate Affairs-Sponsorships, HR Department to share with their employees) representing Medical Hospital / European Researchers Network (to disseminate to your members) or you are in the Media (to present/post in your audiences).
I am sorry for this bulk campaign, but we are short of time - the event will take place live at the Hellenic American Union and virtually at the GSS event platform - and we rely to your kind support to organise a successful event. The course is in English (non-Greeks are also accepted). Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance and can pursue a Master's degree at either Hellenic American University/College or Hellenic Open University.
This is the first step of many to come towards the development of a micro-Ecosystem for Clinical Research in Greece and Cyprus that aims -
to map all people involved and interested in Clinical Research (CR) - all Scientists, Doctors & Nurses, CR other experts, and other stakeholders in the field - in Greece, Cyprus, our Diasporae to connect with peers, European and other networks in a dedicated platform and a LinkedIn GSS Circle that will serve as a hub for discussions, resource sharing, and the dissemination of research findings
- to network these stakeholders (organize conferences, symposiums, and workshops focused on clinical research, andprovide opportunities for scientists and doctors exchange ideas, and build collaborations.
-
to train (and mentor in special cases)- reskill, upskill, cross-skill - the Community members in workshops, webinars, training schools in areas such as study design, data analysis, ethical considerations, and more
-
to collaborate with International Institutions - Universities, Research institutions, and Healthcare organizations to establish partnerships with these entities to access resources, facilities, and patient populations or participate in joint research projects, and exchange programs
-
attract and facilitate the partnerships with Research Institutions, Pharmaceutical companies, Biotech firms, and other sponsors who are interested in supporting clinical trials
- Network with key stakeholders, such as Principal Investigators, clinical research organizations (CROs), regulatory authorities, and even Patient networks
- build a patient population in collaboration with healthcare institutions, clinics, and patient advocacy groups to recruit diverse patient populations for clinical trials
-
promote public engagement with the wider community and educate the public about the importance of clinical research - public lectures, seminars, or science festivals to disseminate knowledge and raise awareness about ongoing research
- support the start-up Community and the Scientists who wish to commercialise their intellectual sweat - collaboration with Incubators, Accelerators, VC Investors and
Some of the recent and upcoming activities iclude the the establishment on LinkedIn of the Clinical Research Circle, (please register; non-Greeks are very welcome to join), we are organising a GSS_Explainer on Decentralised Clinical Trials: is there an opportunity for Greece and Cyprus? with Prof. Nektarios Oraiopoulos, Cambridge Judge Business School, and we are in discussions with Sponsors to set up soon a GSS Virtual Hub on Clinical Research.
Please find below more details on the Course Syllabus, the outstanding line-up of Speakers who is this course for, why to attend and other useful information.
Please also find a digest that can be used as a press release, too. Please feel free to forward this message to any other person that might be interested in the GSS Course. I am happy to reply to any questions you may have by clicking below |

Join us at the GSS Explainer on Decentralised Clinical Trials |
|
|
Explore the potential of Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCTs) and their relevance in the context of Greece and Cyprus. This session aims to shed light on the paradigm shift occurring in the field of Clinical Research (CR), where traditional site-based trials are evolving into decentralized models, leveraging technology and remote participation.
Join us as we investigate the advantages of DCTs, such as increased patient participation, improved data quality, enhanced diversity in study populations, and reduced burdens for patients and investigators. We will discuss with the help of our participants the unique attributes of Greece and Cyprus that may make them favourable environments for DCTs, including healthcare system, patient-centric approaches, and the needed advanced digital infrastructure.
Prof. Nektarios Oraiopoulos, Cambridge Judge Business School, will provide insights into the CR landscape, and challenges associated with implementing DCTs in these regions. Attend this session to gain a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and considerations related to DCTs and how they can shape the future of Clinical Research in Greece and Cyprus. Get involved in our discussions on how to unlock the potential of DCTs in advancing healthcare and driving innovation in our countries.
The event will be held virtually on September 14th at 18:00 EEST |
